The 哈罗德Alfond Sports Medicine 讲座 honors the late 哈罗德Alfond, the founder of Dexter Shoe Company and the 哈罗德Alfond Foundation. He was a longtime supporter of Maine communities in which he and his family worked and resided.

哈罗德Alfond, the founder of Dexter Shoe Company and the 哈罗德Alfond Foundation, was a longtime supporter of Maine communities in which he and his family worked and resided.
Over the course of his life, Mr. Alfond contributed millions of dollars to charitable causes. Mr. Alfond was an accomplished athlete, 体育迷, and someone who believed strongly that athletics offer young people valuable opportunities for personal growth. Accordingly, many of Mr. Alfond’s gifts were made to public and private colleges and universities and private secondary schools to construct athletic facilities and playing fields.
The University of New England has two facilities that honor Mr. Alfond's vision and generosity: The 哈罗德Alfond Center for the 健康 科学s and the 哈罗德Alfond Forum, set to open in fall 2012.
